Six master weavers, six weavers and nine painters of Pothys created the single piece sari, measuring 1,276 feet in length and four feet in width.

Using gold zari, exquisite monuments such as the parliament building, the Taj Mahal, the Charminar, the Qutab Minar, the Brahadeeswarar temple in Thanjavur, the Golden temple in Amritsar and the church in Egmore have been depicted.
Similarly, paintings on the social and cultural life of the people of that period and portraits of Bharat Mata, Mahatma Gandhi, Tiruvalluvar, Swami Vivekananda and the Globe have been used in the sari, Mr. Ramesh said. A total of 40 kg of zari and fabric were used for making the sari, which was produced at a cost of Rs. 22 lakhs.
